Glad to see Sykes win race 1, and in convincing fashion. Also good to see Baz on the podium. Hopefully that happens a few more times before the season is over.
I think that there is something to what he's saying about Kawi being competitive again because of being able to focus on WSBK and not dumping money into the MotoGP pit. Ever since dumping that endevour, they're kicking ass in WSBK, WSS and motocross racing.
It also helps that Suzuki and Honda have pretty much stopped development on their bikes, and Yamaha bailed to focus solely on MotoGP. The only superbikes that have seen significant development in the past 5 years are Kawi, BMW, Ducati and Aprilia.
But I do give Sykes and the crew credit where credit is due. They've done a hell of a job. The biggest thing was getting over the rear tire shredding, and it looks like they've finally figured it out.
