WTF Is This?

Found this empty nest/cocoon while hiking in the woods.....anybody have a clue as to what built this? It's quite fascinating in person....almost a work of art...

Thanks...I hike in the woods every afternoon....for the past 10 years or so and have never seen one of these.....plenty of the honeycomb type nest. Thank God it's empty

You mean kinda like curing a reefer plant? Guess you could stuff it in a bong.

I know what you mean....put it in a carbage bag and sealed it up. Thought I'd give it to my little niece for a science fair project......make sure it's empty first, though.

no, you can keep it for real. just maek sure the hornets are out of it. i have seen those things almost as big as a garbage can. stick it in the freezer for a while if you are worried they are still inside, then it will make a nice decoration for her!

Great Idea...thanks. My niece has to have a science fair project by May and this would work for a 5th grade project.
