Working early morning or night?

Me and a friend had a discussion of which is a more tiring than the other. I work 6:00 AM to 6:00PM, she works 6:00 PM to 6:00AM. Almost lost my foot from this.. during the discussion..

It depends on the person and what they are accustomed to. I have been working swing/night shift for the majority of the past 6-7 years. Working days kills me, I'd take the night shift.

12s suck, but I prefer the mornings if given the choice. I have done both. The night shift always felt like the week was one long day that never ended. When trying to sleep, I was constantly awakened by the meter reader, mailman, door to door salesmen, phone, neighborhood dogs, etc. I do the 6:00 am start now, and I appreciate the fact that I don't have to fight rush hour.

I believe that humans are diurnal animals. Do a google search for "shift work syndrome." That should give you some ammunition.

I work both (then have 48hrs off) I REALLY prefer working nights - much cooler and less hassle: easier to spot "problems" at night.

Night shift for me. No leadership (Big Wigs) around. Easy relaxing layed back.

If everybody in the world loved the same thing it
would be a boring place.

Here's my hours--- 2:45AM to 10:45AM... My body got used to these hours for almost 7 years now! No traffic going to work and very little coming home.. gives me time to take care of little odds and ends (dr. appts, gas, a little shopping) come home do whatever at home... wife gets home about 5:30 ....I get to bed around 7 so I get a full 6 hours sleep(wake up at 1:15 to shower, eat etc.. takes about an hr. to get to my job) some mornings are harder than others when a situation pops up in the early evenings but all in all, working alone for about 6 hours before boss arrives as well as avoiding the unbelievable traffic congestion is well worth it!
