We're the underdogs man. Kawi got a little lax there around the turn of the century when everybody else was coming out with the cookie cutter bikes and higher tech stuff, all we had was the 12R, and even it was so-called "second best" in it's class. Look at the long in the tooth 7R, and the liter-bike comparo's were a laugh with the 9R in the mix. Good bikes, but jeez, you have to admit, they were behind the competition a bit. Now it seems we're/they're trying to break that reputation and regain the older/better reputation Kawi once had.

If you're anywhere near the Louisville Kentucky area, check out my local sportbike forum, Louisville Sportbikes!

Yep, it seems like up untill the '03 ZX-6R Kawi was asleep for about a decade. Maybe they were lulled to sleep after being the 'it' bike of the eighties and early nineties. Everyone wanted a "Ninja" back then.

yeah, that would be my quess too and what Kickaho said. I didn't ride kawi's for a decade, then they came with the 98 ZX9R worlds first 9s stock mass produced bike...then the busa came and many others, Kawi then gave no good responce for awhile until the zx-6R and the 12R but really hasn't been as busy as others. I feel though that they are back in the game now with putting out new bikes every 2yrs or constantly improving. The good days are here for us now in Kawi land. I also reported a feature on the new ZX14 is coming on SpeedTv in the 14 section of this forum and thus more attention is coming for Kawi

its because we don't ride our bikes wearing shorts and flip flops and leave our helmet at home. We now have become outlaws with the rest of the squids.
