Well I just purchased my '04 zx-10 about 2 months ago. This is not the first bike I have owned so i am not a noob to riding. Two nights ago I was riding with a couple of my buddies through some canyons when a heard of deer were crossing the road around a blind corner. I was in the middle of my two buddies. The guy in front of me saw the deer and braked hard enough to do an endo but was ultimately in control. It was one of those rides where we were riding hard so i was right behind him. I braked just as hard but reacted a little too late. I had to swerve slightly to avoid him and lost traction on my front tire. So I went down at around 40mph. I was wearing a helmet, gloves, and fieldsheer jacket. I have come to find out that cloth jackets as opposed to leather are not very good. The pads on my shoulder and elbow moved to the side and let the jacket give me plenty of good rash. The helmet was pretty messed up too, but didnt crack. All in all i'm pretty well off besides some scrapes. I have full coverage on the bike so i will be getting a nice little check from Nationwide. Other than that i love the bike and cant wait to fix it so i can ride again. BTW one of my buddies rides an '06 GSXR 1000 and my bike is quite a bit faster than his. His is stock and mine has full Akro, PCIII with custom map, ported and polished head, and is geared +1 in the rear that i know about so far. (just thought i'd add that)

Glad your okay.

Textile is only better than nothing- they all pretty much say they are for "cruising."

Would have been worse in a T-shirt.

I have a textile with perfed leather sleeves for most of the year in SoFlo.
Love when it gets cold enough for real leather and layers.
Both days of the year- nah, some "winter" nights it'll hit the 40's here.

Sarah Palin and friends can call it a snow machine all they want but Yamaha, Polaris and Bombardier plus the related magazines all seem to call them Snowmobiles.

Snow machines create snow on ski slopes. Just sayin'

So to hear about that mang. Those damned deer like to run out in front of me alot around here as well. Just glad you had your gear on, and that you are ok for the most part. Godspeed on getting your ride fixed!
