Where do people think electricity comes from? Doesn't California already have brownouts? What about recycling all those batteries? How long are the batteries going to last?
There are no free rides yet. Even for hydrogen you have to use electricity to extract it. Dams come at a cost...nuclear??...
Honda has a cool fuel cell combined with solar panels- that is interesting.
When all our houses run on solar- I'll consider electric cars.
If your that damn worried about it- turn off the computer and you home air-conditioning. Disconnect your home theater system and limit your television watching.
We use way more energy on our homes. 3 tv's per home and families watching all of them separately from each other.
Now if we could just stop those damn volcanoes from erupting and releasing more crap than all of our human creations.
BTW-People laughed at that car, it was ugly.
If people had been tripping over themselves to buy the elec car, the price would have gone up to make it profitable, and we'd be driving them today. If they stayed reliable.
Pull over and charge 8hrs to continue my trip? Nah.
Careful under the hood too- that is an electric chair under there essentially.

Sarah Palin and friends can call it a snow machine all they want but Yamaha, Polaris and Bombardier plus the related magazines all seem to call them Snowmobiles.
Snow machines create snow on ski slopes. Just sayin'
