Tulsa, Ok.

Alright I'm inside of a year left until I retire from the Air Force and I'm looking at possible locations to relocate to. What is the down and dirty on Tulsa? What tracks are near by? Riding like? Good/Bad side of town to live on, etc...I've spent a week in Oklahoma City and driven through Ok but that's it.

I grew up in Broken Arrow but didn't ride much then. Most of the riding I did was on nearly deserted roads outside of town. I'd stay clear of the downtown area or just north. SE side is nice, all the surburbs are OK but I'd say Broken Arrow is probably best. My brother still lives there and likes it. It's typical midwest...boring and quiet for the most part.

As far as tracks, there's Hallett Raceway west of Tulsa maybe 30 miles or so. My favorite track in the area, better than Heartland Park (Topeka, KS), or MAM (Omaha). They have very laid back track days, you basically e-mail and tell them if you want to ride, pay when/if you show up. They run CCW and CW sometimes, CW not having great runoff areas in a couple spots though.

Poop pretty much said it all. Iv been in broken arrow for 19 years an that's where it's at. Best roads around Tulsa area. Down town there is just to much traffic an one way roads an too many idiots. However is it fun cruising down in between all the buildings an just listening to the growl of the gen 2 while everyone is looking :) East and southeast BA is perfect for anything. Nice new roads everywhere. Track wise hallot is the only thing good around until they open up Tulsa raceway park again next year but that's strictly drags. Hope you enjoy!

Sweet thanks for the info. The housing market looks pretty good too. I like the idea of a track only 30-45 min away.

Yea housing is nice. I actually just talked to the hallet manager that stopes by my work an he said theres another track day coming up. I need to check their schedule, if you haven't been before to start with you have to take their trainning coarse but after the first time your all good.

It's on the 20th (Sunday). It looks like they still have plenty of spots open.
