Travelling to callifornia over xmas

Hi,
Having had the choice of staying in the UK with our shitty cold weather and an ex wife doing my head in i decided to get away and what better place than California.
I'm flying into LA on the 21st december and leave on the 5th january. I've booked Vegas for new year but besides that the trip is open! oh and i'm on my own.
Does anyone have suggestions for:
where to go?
anything bike related? can i hire a bike for a day etc?
xmas day ideas?
tips and advice?
i've hired a car for the whole time so completey mobile.

cheers
steve

Going to LA, you should check out http://www.socalmoto.org/ most of the peeps live in that area; you'll probably get some suggestions of things to do.

Bike rentals:
http://www.eaglerider.com/losangeles/rentals.aspx -- in LA, cruisers
http://xtrememotorcyclerental.com/rentals.htm -- in Vegas, sportbikes
http://www.sportbikerental.com/index.php -- not sure exactly where
http://www.rentittoday.com/viewers/m...&submit=Search --- a general search, but it gives the names of companies next to the various bikes.

I live closer to San Diego and we have several nice roads for bikes

I remember reading almost the same thing last year.....did you travel last year aswell, or it might have been another member

fyi...if I had a choice of leaving the winter to go somewhere warm, I would be packed and ready to go now! Wish you all the best on your travels.

definately. Does anyone know about best thing regarding mobile phones. I have an unblocked phone and was thinking it would be cheaper to buy a sim out there! in the uk sim cards are usually free and pay as you go. is that the same?
