Speed TV

I was just on speedtv's website. There is a place on the bottom of there page that says "feedback". You can write to speed with comments. I doubt they will read it but I sent one asking them to air more motorcycle racing and less nascar. And that they should upgrade to high-def. Maybe if enough people did this it would finally get thru there heads. I doubt it but it was worth a shot. If they respond to me I will let you guys know what they say. So if you are bored take 5 seconds and go do this.

A year or so ago I had a long conversation with one of the program directors about this very topic. His take was that NASCAR was a money maker for them based on viewership and advertising. Unfortunately that's the name of the game.

Yeah, your never gonna get bike racing to compare with the millions of NASCAR fans, me included, I am just glad we have all this coverage, before speed there was nothing, you could forget about trying to find any WSB, Moto Gp, F-1 etc, its better than nothing.

I agree. Some access to other forms of racing is better than none.

Until Fox/Speedtv finds that money can be made on the "other forms" then they will continue doing what do now. Give up/stop, never. Change tactics, yes. Sign the comments, be polite, spread the word/grassroots, all the usual things. But what will make the change is the same as it always is, money. When the money leaves NASCAR and shines on Nicky Hayden, then Fox will change their progam lineup. We need to find a way to help that happen.

exactly and while that needs to be done I think sending them e-mails like Chad did could only help as long as we are fairly civil about it.

I think the exchange rate for email to dollars is running at approximately 10,000 to $1. So if we flood them with 1,000,000 email comments uniformly asking for more, say MotoGP and only that, then we may equal $100 of potential income for Fox. About the same amount it takes to fire one camera up.
Just trying to say it will be uphill, no I'm not giving up on it, but it will be tough to displace NASCAR. Regardless, say that next weekend Tony Stewart brings national disgrace to NASCAR to the point that there are boycotts. Fox and NASCAR still have contracts and obligations that are probably long term and will have to be fulfilled or at least compensated. So Fox shows NASCAR per the contract or buys out the contract to get rid of it. And let's say that suddenly NH becomes America's sweet heart. It'll still take a while for the momentum to be overcome.
There is always hope. Maybe Fox or someone will start an alternative motorsports channel much like Speed Vision was in the beginning. Maybe NASCAR will follow the NFL in taking full control of their content and broadcasting on their own channel. To me those are the only two ways I can see a change happening in the near term.

why compete on the timeslots? I don't care if the race was recorded. They don't have to be on at the same time as the Nascar races. Heck... lots of us are asleep when the races are taking place on the other side of the planet.
