Should I get a bike?? :/

http://www.wlwt.com/news/25784998/detail.html

Well, sadly enough another person I knew with died this week on a bike. I wasnt great friends with him but I did know him through a local forum. He was actually a semi-pro rider. Wore all his gear all the time, could drag knee's through corners on the track. He had been riding for over 10 years now. He is the 2nd death on a motorcycle since August of people that I have known. I am really debating on getting another bike. I mean I am almost scared that I will get hurt on it. I have known guys to ride for 20+ years and never lay it down, then some guys crash within one week. I trust myself on a bike but accidents do happen... What do you guys think?

Im sorry for your loss man and rip to the fallen riders but I cant live my life in fear oof anything and I refuse to let it dominate any aspect of my life! I DO ride respectably and do NOT get too crazy but I still have fun. I could not imagine my life without a bike and Im sure neither could those who died riding them. We're all going to die, which of us are really going to live?

Just send me the money you've saved for your bike and ill ride it for ya!

if your that worried about it, maybe motorcycles are not for you. Yea they are dangerous and there is an inherent level of caution involved, but you seem scared by the deaths of those guys. If you going to worry so much about the basic safety of riding, at what point are you going to actually develop enough confidence to increase your skill level?

I am fine in my own riding ability. Its the other people I dont trust. I had alot of close calls and to see two people I know die in the last 3 months on bikes is just kind of eye opening...

"Everybody dies... but not everyone lives!" just a few words to live by.
As an older person who has been riding a long time believe me when I say you will know when to stop/slow down. Trust your instincts... whether you decide to ride or not just make sure it is YOUR decision. best of luck

I'm gonna live for ever.... or die tryin'

Don't get a bike until your "fear" turns into a "healthy respect". Riding tentatively in fear can cause you to make mistakes. I've been riding for over 45 years and I still avoid some roads due to "insane" traffic. Best of luck to you in your decision.
