I've had Akrapovic slip-ons on three different bikes now and I've installed them on two other bikes for other people and I'm 100% satisfied with every aspect about them. The sound is great, they look awesome, and the quality of the welds and metal work is second to none. I looked at lots of pics and got feedback on other systems before I went with an Akrapovic slip for my latest bike and just couldn't bring myself to go with anything else. I went Akra based on past experiences with their stuff and I'm happy I did. Can't imagine being happier with any other pipe.
I was told that it suffered in the low rpms with a s/o without a pc.....and some backfiring..thanks again for all the info
I never had any complaints without a PC on Diablo. Today's ride didn't reveal any low RPM problems on Loca either. I did get some "popping" on Diablo when coming back onto the throttle from closed position but it was no big deal. Wasn't willing to spend the $$$ for a PC and associated tuning and risk the problems some folks have with bad PC's just to eliminate the popping. Popping doesn't hurt anything. It's not a full blown "backfire" like the ones that used to balloon car/truck mufflers and/or blow 'em off the pipe. It's just an extra exhaust note, for lack of a better way to describe it.
