Rode a ZX14 at Americade

What an awesome bike! Even though it has more horsepower than the 10, speed was about the same considering the extra weight. Very responsive with a really cozy seating position. Went to put my feet were they usually are on the 10 and they dropped 2 inches! Put it in 6th gear at 75 and it was like the engine was turned off, very quite. Much smoother sounding engine with that deep hum like a Busa. This was at bike week in Lake George, NY called Americade. Awesome event! Hope those that went had a good time!

I was there Friday and Saturday. Missed out on the demos. Someone I was hanging out with rode the 14. He said it was nice, but he likes his 10 better. The weather really put a damper on it this year. The ride back to Syracuse was brutal with the wind and cold.

But I have done a thousand dreadful things,
As willingly as one would kill a fly,
And nothing grieves me heartily indeed,
But that I cannot do ten thousand more.

and what extra hp it does have is consumed moving the extra weight. All I can say is that I really like it....but I really, really like my 10! The rapid response tank bag and tail bag worked wonderfully! Highly recommended gear for the 10.

Ya, we rode back Sat. It was cold and windy but the rain gear really made the difference keeping me relatively comfortable. The 10 is awesome. I mean this bike can actually sport tour. Very impressed.

Have one of each in the garage.. the 14 might not have much more HP than the 10 but it has a crap load more torque. They're completely different purpose bikes and that being said if I had to sell one, the 14 would go first. It would make an excellent sport touring machine but it sure doesn't have the attitude of the 10

99 ZRX1100 - tons of mods and still slow but FUN / 07 Yami FZ1 for the wifie.

Wife and I were up there as well. We each had a chance to wring out the zx6r and managed to hit about 120 mph on the demo ride. Heather even ran the tach needle to the limiter!

I had a ride on the 2006 zx10 scheduled, but the demo rides got rained out. I did manage a ride on the Vulcan 2000 which was fun to grind the hell out of the floor boards. Heather also got a very wet ride on a Triumph Speed Triple.

I wanted to take out the 14 but weather wasn't cooperating. :headshake
