Rode a 750 Gix Yesterday

Finally rode a bike I liked, other than my 05 10. I rode a 06 750 Gixxer up Palomar’s south grade road. The south grade road is all second gear at least for me on either my 10 or the 750 Gix.

One of the things I liked about the 750 Gix was that even though it weighs a little more than the 10 it seemed to handle better, just more sorted and refined, easier to ride.
The other thing was that for that second gear only road it has just enough torque/power.

Yeah I’m saying it, the 10 just makes too much power to safely exit those second gear corners. Twist the throttle a little too much exiting those second gear corners on the 10 and it will put you on your ass. Almost happened a second time to me yesterday on the 10, not so on the 750 Gix.

Anyway I’ll still take the 04/05 10 over the 750 Gix because yeah it handles a little better in the real tight stuff it just doesn’t have enough power for me everywhere else.

I just wanna ride!

I am looking at buying a 06 GSXR750 for the track.... waiting to hear back from the guy. I had an 06 600, and it was nice, had a 2000 GSXR750, and I think the power and handling works great together. That's why I wish Kawi would make a 750 again, or the rumored 800......

I've ridden the 750 and it was a great handling bike. If I wasn't in Germany I'd prob buy a 750 or a 600 since the parts are so easily available on the race forums like

i just sold an 05 750 cause it was very uncomfortable, everytime i rode i had cramps all over my left leg and besides all that my 05 636 is more comfortable and better in handling and it feels about the same in HP vs the gixxer!!!

I had an 01 gsx-r750 and loved that bike, should have kept it and tracked it. Of course the 10R is an amazing beast but that 750 handled very well and like someone else said parts are everywhere for these bikes.
