REAL WORLD K5 Gixxer 1000 DYNO #'S

I just got back from IVAN's shop. He had a k5 Gixxer 1000 that he dynoed @
155. The 10 on his dyno's @ 154.7. Lets see what the Mags dyno's comes up with. Ivan did say the Gixxer had a little more on the bottom end. Just thought I would share the info.

Thanks for the info! Like you said let's see what bs the mags come up with. The Gixxer was always strong down low, and it's good to see that carried over

Just for reference do we know what the mileage was on each bike? I assume they were both stock bikes and the runs took place with in a few mins of each other?

Hey kawyman does Ivan have the dyno up for tuning or is he still using the makeshift mufflers. I called him about two weeks ago and he said the dyno would be out of service for a couple of weeks.

Akra system for the K5, and #'s

Akrapovic just released info on their full systems for the K5 Gixxers on their site. According to them, the baseline is 162hp vs. the ZX10R with 158hp.

http://www.akrapovic.si/main/catalog...vo/default.htm

With comparable evolution systems, the 'Zuk dyno's 170hp, to Kawi's 165.5hp. Interestingly, the K5 sheds 3kg with the evo set up (more than the Kawi's 2.3kg). I guess that huge muffler weighs a bit too.

Keep in mind the usual caveats here, since these dynos weren't back to back, but presumably on the same dyno. Environment conditions, mileage, ram air, and fueling programming (Akra tests their systems without any fuel tweaking).

The K5 may very well be the head of the class by a hair, but it isn't re-defining the liter class by any stretch. Plug in the ratio of power to wet weights into the equation (k5 = 444lbs, vs.10R's 433lbs), and it doesn't get any closer.

Click link below. That says it all. I'm not one to brag. My, and otto65 from bikeland.org ZX10R crushes all 04 R1 bikes that have been on the dyno we use. All these new bikes are good. I'm a strong believer that you can choose on looks alone in the 1 liter class.

Hey, Let's not get to crazy with these #'s. At the stage in the 1000 game it will
come down to riding skill. I have beat 750's riding a 600. So what the HELL is a hp or 2 really going to do for anyone. I love my 10 and will not be buy any thing else.
