Unhappy Out of riding for a bit

So last night at about 1am, I was standing outside at a friends house. Somehow is indoor pitbull got out of the house and met up with the outdoor pitbull and started to get at it. Normally we can pull them apart without an issue, but this is the worst I think they've ever fought. Even through a bucket of water on their face trying to break them up. So being the smart guy I am, I grab one by the back of the collar and try to pull them apart. Next thing I know, the dog is on his back with my hand is in mouth. Needless to say, I covered an 8 square ft area of blood within 30 seconds and lost probably close to 2 pints of blood. Luckily I was in ROTC for 4 years and have the common sense enough to know how to take care of myself. Felt myself coming close to shock, but was able to keep my head on and adress the wounds quickly. Didn't get a chance to take a pic of the holes in my hands, but got a pic of the jeans I was wearing. Hopefully my hands will heal in superhuman time. The most painfull part of the ordeal is not being able to ride in the meantime

I run a 1 pit + 1 mutt household for the same reason, with only isolated normal food altercations from time to time, that could have been avoided. Love my pit, but can't deny genetics. Great around people but if challenged by another intact male..oh shit. easiest way to break them up without a break stick is to lift the main biter by a rear leg and squeeze the crap out of him in the flank...very tender spot that snaps him out of the fight for a second to separate them...sorry to hear your injuries, kinda of odd for a true bred pit to bite a person in a fight...

Ride like you pay a mortgage...

Aparently the army didn't teach you how to read. The reason I stated I was in ROTC was because of the fact that those "retards" taught me first aid and how to be calm in a situation. I never said ROTC gave me common sense. You also seem to be a pretty smart person when it comes to pits (this is what we call sarcasm) Yes, the dogs were not on fire, but when pitbulls are fighting they breathe through their nose. Have you ever tried to breathe in water? If not, stop posting your bullshit and go try it.

Thanks to everyone else with something nice to say Already feeling a lot better today and have some mobility back in my hands. They tore down to the muscle, so squeezing is still an issue, but im sure I'll be back on the bike in no time!
