Need advice on painting plastics, wheels, etc

Boys,

I'm picking up a blue Z1000 soon, and I was curious about painting certain items. I want to use the same colors as my 10R for the plastics, and wheels....I think, according to Color-Rite, they're "Stoic Black" for the plastics (as in the belly pan of my 10R), and "Ebony Black" for the wheels.

Can I just buy a rattle can for the plastics, or is it better to order the liquid paint and have them done at a body shop? Referring to the radiator guards, and side panels on the Z1000?

Regarding the wheels....should they be powder coated, or can they just be painted? I want the stuff done right, so whatever is the best, or most durable I guess.

Are my 10R rims powder coated from Kawasaki, or just painted?

Any and all advice from those of you who have painted this stuff would be appreciated. I want a factory-ish finish if at all possible.

If you want a factory finish I would definately stay away from the rattle can. Find a reputable body shop. Wheels can be powdercoated, it's very durable if applied properly. I believe they're factory pwdrctd? Enjoy the Z1000, I always wanted one for scootin around town, they look pretty tough with dual 2 bros vale cans.
