My house project....

Since BD put up some pics of his project, I figured I'd put up some of my current one. It's not totally done but it's close.

Here's what I'm doing in my basement:

OK, so what are the plans for the media room. (It's in my line of work)

Thanks guys. It's been a long road and lots of headaches. I signed the contract to do the work back in I think December. They broke ground this past May. So there are some finishing work to do mainly electrical and flooring.

GPZ,

My plan is to install this equipment into the sound room:

Since then I bought a Bryston 6B-ST amp to replace one of the Carver TFM-25s pictured above. In the media room, I have Lutron Spacer System lighting controls going in to control 4 zones of lighting. I also have 3 dedicated 20 Amp circuits running to the front of the room. Power condition is via this:

An Equitech 2Q

and this an Equitech 1.5BQ

I don't have much money left to spend. But the plan is to eventually have 2 bass traps one at each corner of the front room. Also the plan is to put up acoustical panels on the front wall and the side walls. The sound panels are 4'x4'. One on each side of the plasma and two on each side wall about 2 feet above the floor.

The rear surrounds are the same as the two main speakers, B&W Nautilus 804s. I may upgrade the small sub pictured (Velodyne HGS12II) to a Velo DD12 or DD15. I'm thinking maybe a DD15 as the other sub I have for LFE is a HGS15II.

Thanks BD. Props to your project too. I hate doing yard work and it shows. I envy people that can do landscaping work. If I had my choice, I'd have astroturf in my back yard.

Serious gear there.

Love the B&W's, have you heard KEF's? Not much of a fan of Carver, so not unhappy to see it depart. With the walls all sheetrock, I know you need to break up the reflections, but why the bass traps, do you have standing waves? I've used tapestry hangings to soften the wall and break up the bounce, looks nice (unless you want the studio/tech look).
BTW what in the heck is that thing with the plexi lid?

You need a bigger plasma display. Can't quite tell the make, but it looks about 42".

Red face

Looks good but I can't stand living that close to my neighbors(good or bad)!
I hate the way they build houses today(one on top of the other) but I guess that keeps the places I like to live a little less crowded. Sweet house though!

Is it Fast?
