Leary of PayPal now.

Last time I used Paypal,
very shortly after that, all of a sudden a charge shows up for .1 cent from a company in SD. Then when that went thru, a company in the UK charges an Apple computer for almost 700 to my account.
Luckily my bank caught it and put a stop to it.

So, I don't like to use P/P anymore, I had to get a new credit card because of this.

Anyone else have these kind of problems with them??

nope, paypal is solid as it gets. that first charge should have been an indication of what was coming. anytime u see something odd like that, jump on it quick. sorry you had to hassle with it all, but paypal truly is the best way to do business online imo.

Don't know if it was a result of using PayPal or not, but I had a few thousand charged to my account, originating in Australia, Washington state and Europe...a lot of it was donations, like Feed the Children. Luckily, I had no problem having them removed, but did have to get a new card...ASSHOLES!! (Sorry, kids!)

I do watch my account online.
But when they did the 1 cent charge, they immediately did the next one.
And I wasn't online at the time. But my bank credit card fraud division called me
and asked me if I was buying an apple computer. Of course I was like HELL NO.
And they fixed it for me. Yay Credit Union.

But, it just seems mighty suspect right after using P/P this happens.
I've had others tell me that they (P/P) have been hacked many times.

be sure to keep a strong password, do not login to your account from PUBLIC computers. hell even your friends computers. u never know what virus/trojan/keylogger is on there. keep your own system clean as well.

basically use linux & a strong password & you wont have this problem :D

I've never liked them personally but there aren't many better options. One of their customer service agents hung up on me one time when I asked for a manager. That pissed me off to no end.

Fuggers took a fee from my account for a refund because the seller took to long to use the refund button. Then they wouldn't give it back to me. It was like a dollar or something small but it was the principal that it was a refund not a "payment".

linux is an open source (free) operating system that just so happens not to have any of the virus/spyware issues that windows does. ever heard of Ubuntu, Red Hat etc? Hell Mac OSX is based off free bsd which is a form of linux/unix.
