I too have had ACL reconstruction & miniscus surgery in 94. One thing to keep in mind is you MUST be dedicated to PT afterwards otherwise the surgery is pretty much useless. In combination with regular therapist visits your home program is a vital part in your overall recovery.

Been off work for 5 months with a Staph infection from a simple Meniscus surgery, 2 surgeries later my left leg is 3/8" shorter than the right after they shaved the rotting bones from the infection. Now have a loose ACL and a leg brace and the prospect of more surgery to fix the mess.

Good luck with yours and as BD said PT is very important.
