I run a AC-12 carbon, hell of a underated helmet, if you can get past the stigma of "HJC" its a great helmet.

The helmet itself feels like you are wearing a hat it is so light, I have a Suomy Spec1R Extreme as well, which fit and feel real similar to Arai's. The shape of the HJC is more of a pronounced oval sahpe, not as round or intermediate as the Arai/Suomy. The quality of the material in the liner is not quite on par with the Arai, but still very nice and comfy. I am not particular sensitve to head shape, I can wear about any helmet, if you are, you should probably go try one on first, even if you can only find a non carbon AC-12, it should fit about the same, but remember the carbon one weighs about half what the fiberglass ones weigh, and I am thinking the liner is nicer on the carbon (not sure) They also come with a super nice helmet bag, way nicer than anything I have seen before. The carbon is very nice, perfect weave, and i could not find any imperfections in the clear. The logo is cleared over, which sucks. Overally, well worth 199$ I may get a "elbows" myself, it is a pretty nice looking design.

If you want the lightest and quietest helmet out there right now, try this one: the SHARK RSR2. I have one and all I gotta say is, WOW...It is definately lighter than my Arai RX7 Corsair and is the quietest helmet I have ever owned. It is very innovative in it's design and features. Normally they run about $650.00 but at Sportbiketrackgear.com they are selling them for about $450.00.....Check out these Shark helmet videos:

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure what was up when I saw Miguel Duhamel switching to shark a few years ago. I have an Arai Hayden replica and an Icon Alliance that I wear.

Speed is nothing unless you know what to do with it.

Yeah....same here. I also have an Arai Nikki Hayden replica but once I actually picked up one of those Shark RSR2 helmets, I could'nt believe how light it was, then once I actually wore it out on the track, I could'nt believe how quiet it was. Believe me, once you get one you will not go back to anything else. Here's the one I got......I know it does'nt match my bike or leathers but I love it just the same.
