JW, Who's all in the military here?

Just out of curiosity, who here is in the military? What branch and for how long? Any regrets of joining?

I'm in the Army going on 8 years and is a E7 SFC. I have no regrets only when I got deployed I missed my kids dearly. And with the economy the way it is, it doesn't look like I will be getting out any time soon.

ARMY for the past 8 years, get out in 3. Stationed out of Ft Stewart right now. No regrets, would do it again.

I'm trying to decide if I should go the extra 12 years and just retire. It's a tough one. But after you get pretty much passed E6 everything tends to go slower, it's not like how it first was starting as an E-Fuzzy. Maybe it was seemingly more fun since I was single back then and hoping from base to base.

Some folks love to move around..my wife is not one of them. I get out and throw down some roots. The military is awesome, and to stay in or not depends alot on what your MOS is and what you would be doing in the real world instead. For me, getting out makes more sense regardless of potential rank. Economy is going to keep alot of people in for a couple of more years...ARMY never has lay offs, never pays late

Army, Aviation, 12 Years, SFC - The only regrets are not seeing my kids grow up. Fort Hood kinda sucks too.

You always have the experience 3 seconds after you really needed it.

I really really hate Ft. Hood. Yep, it's the part where you're gone for 15 months and don't get to see the little ones grow up. I might just put in for recruiting just so I can be home every night. With my luck it'll be somewhere in North Dakota and the population is 1200 people....hahah
