I could not freaking believe it.
I was surfing bike sites and came a crossed this artricle.
RnR Cycles: So, we hired a felon…
I read this and said, "Say it ain't so"
R n R Cycles in Sterling, VA
announced that they hired a bike thief.
Here is the link to it.
These guys are ASS CLOWNS....
They keep going on about how he paid his debt to society.
But he didn't just steal 1 bike, he was part of a theft ring that stole many, many bikes. And was using the forums to track bikes to steal.. WTFO????
What the f**k are they thinking? I would NEVER buy from them or let them touch my bike. Holy shit!!!!!
And anyone near them needs to tell them the same.
"YOU DON"T SHIT WHERE YOU EAT"
Here are just a few quotes from the thread..
"RnR Cycles: So, we hired a felon… - November 22, 2011, 09:02 AM
And not just any kind of felon. The most hated kind by all motorcyclists.
See, this guy loved motorcycles. A lot. But they were OTHER people’s motorcycles. Yup, that’s right- this felon used to steal motorcycles".
"This guy allegedly stole my bike in 2005, the gixxer alstair. He and someone else used this board used group rides to track bikes to steal off the board. I also heard he's laughing about the fact that he stole GixrBens bike and now he'll be working on them. I don't find it so funny, people who are sorry for punching you in the face don't laugh about the blood.
He owes about a half million dollars
and half of his paycheck for the rest of his life to repay, so I guess that kind of compensates".
"I am more directly concerned with the fact that this person owes $460,000.00 to individuals and insurance companies. Half of every paycheck goes toward repayment, and he has to pay the clerk of court $150 a month.
Any money received "off the books" would not be garnished... there is a strong reason for him to either do sidework, or subsidize his income in other ways. He'll never pay off $460,000; not in his lifetime. There is strong reason for him to find other sources of income and we all know what that could mean. I trust Rick and Rachels judgement, but I'm $6000 in the hole because of this guy, so I figure if anyone has a right to comment it's me.
BTW - The fact that I was referred to as "GixrBen" in the account of him laughing about the stolen bike is telling. I haven't used that screen name in 5 years. Maybe he was tickled at the irony... I'm not".
"I am all about people deserving a second chance and everything.
this dude was convicted of being the head of an international motorcycle theft ring for over 3 years, of personally stealing over 50 motorcycles and transporting them over state lines (the actual number of stolen bikes is much higher), and he served less than 2 years in prison (hardly "hard" time) and owes over $450,000 in restitution. He stole MANY bikes from .net members and from current RnR customers. He wasn't stealing out of necessity.
I think hiring him at RnR is a slap in the face to all of the people on .net who have had bikes stolen and to all of the RnR customers that have had a bike stolen".
I am astounded by the stupidity of some people.
