HID compared to Sylvania Silverstars

Got my digital camera back yesterday, still not fixed properly, but thats another story. Took some pics of my HID upgrade i posted about. If anyone is still interested in a set of perfectly working Sylvania Silverstars, hit me up!!
First two are HID's, 6000k, the third is the sylvania silverstar.

Try to simulate the same circumstances. The HID photos are in shadow, while the Silverstar photos are in sunshine. I am sure the HID will still be better but it would be a better comparisson.

sorry its not in the exact same lighting, i live in NY now, and the other pic is from TX in the middle of summer, and i happen to remember to take my camera up to the garage. Anyways, if i get a sunny day i'll shoot it again, but the difference is night and day when looking into them, and at night its the same, no comparison, its like having or not having hid's on your car, i have both and thats why i got a set for the mustang also. so now both cars and the bike are hid equipped!

As for the front stand, i got it as a set, for like $120ish shipped, way back when i had my F4i so i can't remember, he was new then, but the guy makes them himself, nothing fancy, i painted them black, and you can use the spools or the bars things to put under the swing arm if you dont have spools. They've upped their invetory, i am happy with mine, nothing fancy and gets the job done. They sell on ebay also. http://www.redlinestands.com/

got them off ebay, but i emailed the guy for a better deal since i was getting 2 sets. $200 for each set. [email protected] thats his email, name is amrit. tell him i just bought them from him, hopefully he'll hook you up the same way. install, piece of cake, laid it all out to make sure it worked. the biggest bitch, well there were alot:

1. Don't use that tape for the iginiter it comes with, go to wal-mart, go to the paint isle, and get 3M double sided tape, the 5lb version, its thick, nothing less, i use this shit for everything, real durable

2. getting the wires routed on this bike since its so tight is a bitch, take your time, i kinda rushed at the end

3. when you put the lights in, you have a wire hanging out that goes to the igniter, so you need to drill a hole to pass the wire through, i started with i think a 1/8" as a pilot, and ended up at 3/4", don't skimp out on the big drill because you'll never be able to hold the cover while drilling, the torque will twist it right out, i learned that the hard way.

4. just tucking all the wires away for a clean look, take your time, it took me 20 min to get it to work, can do it in 10 now, but 3 hrs putting it in, then it got freakin dark out and thats not good.

But its so good to see them lit up everytime you ride!!

So your saying you have to drill the light housing? What about water getting in... If you have install(ed) pics, that would be awesome!

all you are drilling is the light cover, so when you take off the backing, your unscrew the left and right cover for each light. well, you can't close them with the hid without the wires in the way, so i drilled a hole for them to go through. now water, ya, you'll have to be careful, i am going to cover them up, just haven't yet since i try not to drive in the rain and am careful washing the bike.

will you please post pics of the ballasts...

I just put HID's on my car and OMG what a difference.

you might also want to pull the bike in a garage and take a pic of the lite on a wall..with the HID and w/out. That gives a better comperason of the out put.

something like this...

back of my lamps..where I drilled a hole on the car (hole saws are great)

this was my difference between OEM and HID

Silver stars are nice...pricey..but Hid's blow them out of the water.

my only concerns are..space..and how the lite is put out. Since there are no projectors, does it just go everywhere?
