F$%^&*KING RAIN and Leather

Bought a new Dainese Vintage leather jacket a couple of weeks ago (AUD$1000) and last Saturday rain fucking poured from a nice warm sunny day. I followed all instructions on how to dry it.

No heat, no fan. I let it dried on it's own under room temperature. I didn't even hang it because it might strech. Just placed in a dry towel in the floor, closed all zips and buttons and let it dry.

I tried it on today and it had streched significantly. I cant undo this damage now can I?

:headshake

Even my cheaper leather jackets (A-stars) haven't seen rain this bad.

It might be goofy, but break that suit in by wearing it around the house now, that's the first thing I would have done. Even when it was wet. All leather will shrink when it gets wet or heated up significantly.

At its core, the Ninja ZX-10R is a motorcycle built for the accomplished rider who can fully appreciate its capabilities--whether put to the test at a racetrack, or merely the focus of bench-racing conversation. It is, by all standards, the embodiment of the ultimate superbike.

Buy a stitch...it's goretex and doesn't care about rain, sleet, snow...oh and it's nice and warm too.

Mine actually got loose. Before it was nice and snug.

That really sucks, have you tried treating it with any type of leather conditioner? Good luck!!

Yeah no good.

The only solution I can think of is to put on more weight.

You might give it a good conditioning with lexol and let it sit for a few days. I've been caught in the rain in a few jackets and they all get stretched out to what seems like no return. However, with a bit of patience, they will shrink up again.

re-tailored it. I had a leather jacket for years and its sentimental. Couldn't get rid of it so i paid 100 bucks to get it tailored.

That's actually a good idea. Though I think I would need a special tailor to do this yes? $100 is pretty good.

Dainese are know for their quality though. I'm scared the tailor might fuck it up.

This is the jacket I'm talking about it's REALLY nice.
