Which DSLR to get under $1000

Being eye'ing the Canon T2i. (http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consum...18_55mm_is_kit) Should I get a Nikon instead? Seems like everyone says Nikon D90 is a better camera. Any inputs? Thanks.

Pentax FTW. I've been using their stuff for something like 25 years. Canikon if you want to be like everyone else. The K7 or the soon to be released K5.

FWIW, I ended up with the T2i. I originally purchased the D3000, then traded it in for the Canon, (thanks to Best Buy's generous return policy, 7 day full value exchange). I also shot Pentax (25+ yr.s) and REALLY wanted to like the K7, but the Nikon felt better, the Canon had a better layout,(for me). I really like the right side button setup and accessibility of the Canon over the Nikon's left side. The Pentax's (tested anyway) tendency to overexpose and clip concerned me, but the new Kr? will probably fix that. The T2i is kind of small if you have large hands, (the battery pack makes it alot better though). They are all great cameras though, find a store that will let you actually handle them. You won't go too far wrong just going with the one that feels right to you.

Canon all the way...A friend was in the same position as you...He ended up with a Canon D50...It was a tough choice.

I have 4 Canon point in clicks with the latest one being a year old and the 2nd gen Rebel XT.
