Drove a new CBR 1000 today..

One of my good riding buddies traded his bike for a new cbr 1000 today. But get this! He asked me this morning if I would drive his old bike to the dealership for him and drive his new cbr home for him. He had to baby sit his kid and didn't want to wait till the weekend to get his bike. I was kinda suprised that he would let someone drive his brand spankin new bike home from the dealership for him. He didnt have mile one on it yet. They just took it out from the crate that morning. I felt bad for him in a weird kind of way because to me driving a brand new bike off the lot for the first time is tits man! It felt weird everybody their it seemed was telling me how nice my new bike was and I told them that it wasn't mine and they couldn't believe the story. Anyway I really like the way the bike seemed to handel. I didnt ride it too hard for obvious reasons but enough to get a feel for it and I like it very much to my suprise. The whole package felt vey smooth to me; power delivery transmition etc. I even liked the hydrolic clutch. It seemed to really come to life around 6000 rpms. Not bad looking either; but deffinately not a bike I would trade my 10 for. That was my good deed for the day...

If I were him, you would have been the one sitting at home with the kiddies.

Ya I agree. His woman was the one I think who wanted me to do the swap for him. I understand because I know alot more about riding a bike than watching a 6 month old. lol...

Very trusting of your buddy to do that. Hope you were nice to that tight new engine!

What does Honda say about break-in? Keep it under 4K? 6K?

Huh. Drive a bike? I always ride a bike.

I live my life a quarter-pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, im free. I need FRIESSSS! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didnt blow a seam on your nugget box.

I am not sure what the break-in recommendations are. No one told me. I used common sense . I tried to keep running the engine up and down; letting the engine break alot on decel. I never revved it past 6000 rpms. The ride was about 65 miles from the dealership. I did feel some pressure doing this deed I must admit. Its the things that I can't control like other people that can make things interesting. I told my friend that I couldn't believe he wanted me to do this. He said that he trusted me and my abilities to get the bike home safe almost more than anyone. Needless to say I was glad to get her home and put it on its side stand safe and sound...

Break-in? What break-in...I thought it was breaking...You ride the damn thing so hard your think you're breaking it, if it still runs after 50 miles, change the oil and it's all set....;)
