Changing bikes is hard to do...

Okay well here is my story I will try to make it brief. I am selling my R6 to buy a house. The Goverment is going to give me 8k for buying said new house. While my R6 has been a great bike I plan to purchase either an R1 or ZX-10. I really like the 10 but feel some loyalty to Yamaha. I have never owned anything other then a Yamaha. (Well I had a Honda 4ooex)

My question is how is the bike in the long run. Common issues? I really like the 05 but what is the best year? Problems? (i.e. early R1 has 2nd gear issues)

Thanks for the help.
