Okay, well... I would have bought the stuff regardless of if I was having a birthday or not.
So far in the past week, I purchased the following toys for myself:
GoPro HD Hero 2
RS-Taichi GMX-Motion vented leather jacket
RS-Taichi GP-WRX gloves
RS-Taichi GMX-Motion vented leather pants (today)
Sidi ST Air boots
and to top it off, the adhesive to my Bell RS-1 RSD Flash helmet came apart from the protective foam and the shell. I spoke with Bell and they sent a replacement out 2 day overnight at no cost (5 year warranty on the suckers).
The leathers are top notch. Some of you may have seen my other post where I talk about leathers in the summer. I used to be against it because I was hot as hell, a lot of it having to do with me not being used to the Texas heat (I'm originally from the West Coast). So today, I rode home from Moto Liberty in Dallas with my full get-up.
The feeling I had was AMAZING. There is a turn on the side street after my exit that is a 90 degree turn but with some nice road space. Without the full get-up, it's fun... but in the back of my head, I also lost just that little bit of confidence because I felt that if I leaned too far, my knee would shatter on the pavement. Talk about confidence inspiring... not overly, as in... I feel invincible... but what a tremendous difference it makes. I took that corner like a boss, at least it felt that way!
Anyway, the SIDI ST Air boots feel great as well. I am definitely going to have to adjust my Vortex rearsets. Currently I have them up pretty high, but that's with my RS-Taichi Delta riding shoes. The SIDI boots are obviously more sturdy and feel different while riding. So, it's looking like I'm going to have to move them down; no big deal. The current positioning doesn't work well with the boots.
