Birthday Gift

I know I have a lot of fellow brothers/ sisters who may own guns here so I wanted to share this...

Last week was my birthday. I was going to buy myself my first handgun. Alas, I had to buy new tires (either replace 2 front BF Goodrich ATs or get a whole set of 4 Falken ATs for $200 more...I replaced all 4 but kept the 2 BFGs), get an alignment, and replacing my wife's car battery. I was bummed...Went back to SoCal bummed but happy for what God has given me.

So I go up to NorCal since my buddy was going up and hitched a ride and hung out with my family. On Sunday I say let's go to the gunshop. Boom! He and I each buy Remington 870s Express in black(USA baby) for my skeet shooting and quasi home defense and then I up and get a Smith and Wesson M&P 45 (USA baby). The 10 day wait in CA...Good shooting is coming!!!

I feel good but the wait is killing me. First handgun (I am rifle guy) and I was torn between the M&P 9, the M&P 45, and FN FNP 9...For a 9mm I will get the FNP 9 after my 30 days are up. Here in CA one handgun a month.

Happy Birthday to me and pics when I get the guns.

Cool man and happy birthday. Here in VA it's one a month as well unless you have your concealed carry...which I do.

M&P are very nice as well.

I bought an 870 express magnum off my buddy for a steal and I love that thing.

Yeah I always borrowed my friend's 870 that I finally caved in.

Those are nice guns.

I've seen a couple Express Mags with tight forcing cones lately, so if it get's tight to eject just run some 2000 grit wet/dry paper up the cone to smooth it out some. Makes them silky.

Thanks for the heads up bro. I love reading up on products I buy so that helps tremendously.

Awesome. I am impressed by the range reports of small groups out to 25yrds. I shot a friend's Ruger P90(?) I shot 5 shots and hit paper 3 times...The group was crazy. Almost a 8 inches.

HA CA sucks for guns. If it were not for my house, job, and family, I would be in Texas.
