Which Bike is Better?

Well I need everyones opinion on which bike is better for street riding. My buddy is getting a bike, but he has never ridden one. He does understand clutch and throttle control, so atleast he has this going for him. He is also very responsible and understands the dangers of riding. My question is which bike 00-03 R6 or 00-03 GSXR 600 would be better for around town riding? He is dead set on getting a sportbike, so it is really between these 2 brands (he likes the R6 or GSXR). Personally I like the Gixxer more for around town cause it has a little bit better down low power. I don't like revving a bike super high to get it to move. SO what do ya'll think is better for around town and cruising

00-03 R6
or
00-03 GSXR 600

Thanks for any and all replies everyone

I have a '99 R6 hanging out in my garage and it is a fun bike. In stock form, I thought it was weak on mid range but when I got an Akrapovic Evo system for it and an Ivan's jet kit, it picked up a bunch of drivability in the mid range power band. If you get a carbed R6, I would highly recommend the Ivan's kit. It is much more extensive than the competition and more intricate to install. But well worth it.

I think the Gixxer is a good bike also.

Don't confuse me with facts, my mind is already made up.

Kip: Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.
Pedro: Yes. I don't understand... they say you're not allowed to have pinatas that look like real people, but in Mexico, we do it all the time.
Pedro: Vote for me, and all your wildest dreams will come true.
