I am all for wearing gear but this is supposed to be a free country. News is all over the guy for not wearing a helmet.

He risks being in a wheel chair everytime he goes to work. One bad tackle, gear or not.

I dunno, hope he is okay but people go skydiving, bungee jumping and all sorts of dangerous stuff.

Let a person live and maybe even die how they want to.

Sarah Palin and friends can call it a snow machine all they want but Yamaha, Polaris and Bombardier plus the related magazines all seem to call them Snowmobiles.

Snow machines create snow on ski slopes. Just sayin'

I am surprised they dont have a dangerous hobbies clause in his contract keeping him from doing things like this.

If in fact the report is true it only fuels the fire for those that lobby for a country wide helmet law AND his injuries could have been minimal had he worn one.

He made a choice. People should be aloud to make choices, even bad ones.

We have become such a bunch of weenies in this country. Maybe he should take up horesback riding- oh wait, Chris Reeve.

His freakin job is more dangerous than riding a bike helmet or not.
Ask Marc Buoniconti . Used to see him in the Grove all the time.

Kind of like when Honda told McGrath not to ride his street-bike while racing for them. As I remember, that is why he left them. (Final straw) He gave them the finger for being hypocrites.

The Blue Angel's leader had to argue to let his pilots ride, was in the mags a year or so ago- thier job isn't dangerous at all (sic.)

It's true enough...he got beat about the head (no pun) last year by the news media his coach and former Steelers QB Terry Bradshaw. for riding a bike without a Helmet. This is just more fuel for the fire. Im just waiting for Winslow name the get thrown in by the meida, for further proof of how dangerous Motorcycling is. You know as opposed to having 4 300 plus pound men trying to run you down for 20 games a season.

He may have a dangerous job, but they also wear helmets in football. I guess he went through the windsheild of the car.

See above post, Marc Buoniconti - helmets don't stop spinal cord injury- his choice.

Don't think it was a ZX14, it had a silver frame and air inlet through side frame spar. Was thinking a TL or hayabusa. Something with twin (aftermarket?) exhausts.

I wear a helmet and in all honestly think it's pretty dumb not to.

Still, it's his choice and I hate to see people slammed for making a lifestyle choice.

Does he owe us something? No. Only himself, his family and MAYBE his team-mates. Most of whom probably do some stupid stuff, like drinking and driving. Choices.
