Bet you don't have one of these?

Well, I got a new helmet(though I didn't need it) on Friday and tested it out yesterday. Must say I love the idea of it and it does work really well, but be warned that the view is a bit distorted and small, and you have to have it on in just the correct position, but it does work!

I was looking in the rear view much more often, looking for cops and who's tail gating without taking my eyes off the road. Only looking in the side rear-view mirrors occasionally to verify what I was seeing, but this is something you could get very used to quickly. Though I prefer the system helmets like my Shoei Syncrotech II and hope that Reevu comes out with one too eventually, maybe even with a retractable sun-visor like the Airoh, I do see my self using the new one with this unique feature more often.

It is a little taller than my Shoei, but also has washable inserts unlike the Shoei.

Suggested retail is 449 euros (Safe Motors in the Netherlands have them in stock), but I ordered it online for 379. Made in Italy.

Ordered the optional Irridium Silver visor to go with the Blackmetal, but I'm told it will take 6-8 weeks for it to be available.

Here's more...

Then we could get away from the mirrors that you can't see behind you with.

I live my life a quarter-pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, im free. I need FRIESSSS! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didnt blow a seam on your nugget box.

And here's something else I bet you don't have (yet), for those into toys (and those not like me but are amazed anyway) they have these available now (OK, off MY topic but will keep you interested if you haven't seen it yet for a few minutes).

A better larger version of the video here:

The reason i bring this up is it was either the HydroFoam or the Reevu. Did I make the right decision? Maybe next month I will get the other and find out for myself.

And back to the helmet, my prediction is that most helmet makers will probably eventually license this technology and use it in theirs once it's more prefected. They need to get it larger or magnified and remove the destortion and be able to adjust it a bit if possible.

Can you really mount a 6.5" screen in your helmet? Or do you mount it on your bike and look down everytime you want to see what's in back of you while you rearend the stopped car in front of you? Maybe you could mount a screen in each one of your side rear-view mirrors? But then what's the point?

The hydrofoam is bad- didn't know they started to sell it.
Emailing it to my friend now.

Everyone must be watching the HydroFoam video???

For those that have already seen the HydroFoam video..., Is it just me or do these exhausts appear the nicest looking around? I hope they do something very similar to the 2006 ZX-10R.

click on the "photo exhaust" link for a nice close-up to see just how well it fits with the Duc.
