Bad Dog Day

Bad DOG Day

Seems tragedy has been around me lately…last night I put my Jack Russell and German Shepherd out in the front yard to take a late night piss. Then the call came…from the neighbor…your DOGS HAVE JUST BEEN RUN OVERED by a CAR and it didn’t stop either.

I don’t know how they got out of the gate but guess somehow the shepherd figured out a way to open it with his nose and the Russell took off witch has no control for the environment out of the gate. Then my German Shepherd less than 1yrs old must have followed her across the street and it happened.

Yep, lost the JACK RUSSELL Killed and must have run about a mile looking for the German Shep…as the neighbors said he ran after that.. but went running fast to look for him. Then when I came back to the spot were he got hit they had him but he clearly had damage to the eye area.

So, as it stands right now after x-rays and now is going to get better scans it stills seems certain he will loose one eye from what the Vets have said that have looked at him but it's not certain yet but I feel it's true.

He is staying over night at UC DAVIS university one of the best in the country. They think it will cost up to $5000 to repair his eye socket but I don’t care he is family. I did buy insurance for him though when I bought him so I will get some help..just don’t know how much.

Sorry, guys to bring this story up but I posted his pics on this forum when I first bought him and when he was a puppy.

Thanks guys...I just told my 7yr old that Thor is in the hospital and might loose one eye. and that grandpa only has one eye so it doesn't matter...we love them all the same.

My dad lost one eye a long time ago.

I couldn't believe how calm my son was...it seemed like he was trying to calm me down.

I understand what you mean about a dog being family. I feel the same about my dog. I hope yours makes a full and fast recovery.

I have a Jack Russell, and when those things get out there is no stopping them. Any ideas on what piece of $hit did this? If you find out lemme know, I will fly to Ca and kill them. Sorry about your loss.
