Auto machanics help

I picked up a 95 sierra 4x4 350 v8 manual trans. The thing is stuck in 4 wheel drive, it has the 4 wheel drive on the floor and it doesn't matter if I put in 4h, 4L, or 2h it's always in 4 wheel drive. If I put it in neutral on the floor it goes in neutral. Is my transfer case shot or could it be something else? I know there's sensors down there, what are the common issues with these? Thanks

is there a possibility of it being a bad cable or switch in the 4x4 gear? sorry man, don't really know shit about 4 wheel drives.

Take a risk, and you may lose. Never risk, and you will always lose.

Im wondering if it could be the 4x4 actuator maybe? Im hoping there are some guys here that know chevys good and can help pin point it as cheap as possible.

Have you tried disengaging it and then backing up 30 or 40 feet? This will often unlock it if it's stuck.
