Anyone care to share their experience using SquareTrade to purchase stuff online?

Hi,

Came across this service called SquareTrade while purchasing some stuff on Ebay. Wonder if anyone got any experience using this service?

Beside Paypal, is there other services around?

Did any of you encounter seller requesting for payment to be done using money transfer services like Western Union? Is it safe to do transaction in this manner?

How to make your purchase more secure?

Kindly share your views and thoughts here.

Last year I came VERY close to purchasing a 10-r on Ebay. How could I resist at a $4500.00 sale price. The seller was overseas and was Square Trade listed. HOWEVER, after doing a lot of research, I found out the he was not Square Trade listed. He faked the logo on his listing. That was the first bad sign. Then, he was wanting to use a shipping company that did not exist. And man, did the website and everything look legit, until I called UPS to verify this company was working with them and found out they had never heard of it. I filed a compaint with the FBI, Ebay, and UPS sending them all e-mails and website links from this seller.
I have bought a ton of goodies off Ebay with no problems, but I am always very careful. Like my Dad used to say : "Respect everyone, but trust noone".
Even though I did finally get my 10, and paid 11k OTD, it is in my garage!!!

Post gratuitous picture now....

Man. . . . . . .That was CLOSE!

Too close to say the least.

I faced similiar situation, now I live by a code, the code is simple. "Some things are just too GOOD to be true".

I guess Paypal are currently the most secured service.
