So I rode my bike to work today and it was 38* outside!! The only things that were cold on me was my hands (b/c I dont have gauntlet gloves) and my thighs. Ankles werent too bad. People where looking at me like I was a lunatic or something!! I had fun anyways though!!

I did the same thing this morning it was around 40*F. My hands to were the coldest. I wore some long johns under my pants and shirt.

I ride all winter long as long as there isn't ice on the road. These bikes love the cold air!

Yep thats the best thing, more power and less traction = way more fun...Nothing like clutching up a second gear sitdown the thing spinns for about 10ft before hooking up and lifting the front end...

lol...
i thought you meant you were 38 years old and riding to work... so am i...errrr wait a minute...

but yeah, funny how only things that get cold are the things we concentrate on... i.e. hands , doesnt matter how warm the rest of the body is, all we feel is the cold hands...if you got good gloves, then something else is cold..."by gosh, my neck is cold!!"... say you have a apple warmer, then its" golly!, my nose is cold"... never ends... ahhh the pleasures of cold weather riding....hit black ice and went into a powerslide a couple years back on my nighthawk...cleaned drawers, slowed down....

Garage
I try to ride regardless of temp. I just pull out the trusty Hein Geiricke all weather jacket I got a few years back along with Alpinestars gortex lined gloves, Tecknik pants and Astar boots. I look like the Mich man but I'm toasty!

A good investment if you ride a lot during the winter is some high dollar thermal undies. Not the Walmart long johns either. The ones that you get from an outdoor fitter or some milspec stuff.

Oh, can't forget a balaclava or the like.
