2005 Gsx-r1000

We all know the 10R had a wheel recall but didnít it have some type of frame recall similar to this or was it just rumor?

If the frame recall was legit how did Kawai handle it?

There has only been one instance that I'm aware of regarding a frame crack on the ZX-10R that wasn't due to a serious crash. Even that one case may have been the result of abuse.

I heard the Gixxer was a cracking bike. No wonder all the mags are banging on about it. Bit of JB Weld will sort that.

Yes what they said about the kawi frame recall, just BS

On a different note, looking at the photos; I work at a plant making semi truck axle housing, as a QA tech i daily do weld penetration checks using a ultra sonic testing and that is one of the worst looking welds I've seen, weld just laid on top of it (we required 55% min. pen), not enough heat, too little wire, etc. there's a lot of things that can contribute to a poor weld. Since it's a production line process most likely done on a robotic welder, unless they have a good containment plan for quality issue's they may be other's like that.
Be interesting to know what they find in the testing and what the frame ser# was, I'd hate to have a frame # close to that one

AS far as weld penetration checking, even with our Ultra Sonic tester you have to grind the weld flat with the metal surface to measure weld pen. or you can drill the weld, measure it with Mics then weld fill the hole back in
