$100,000 proposition

OK...I have to bring this one to the forums. Today is my father's 64th birthday. We had dinner together at Ruth's Chris...it was Dad/girlfriend, Brother/wife, me/girlfriend.

The topic of motorcycling came up (inevitably). To cut to the chase, my father offered me $100k to give up riding motorcycles. This is not a joke. When my mother was alive, both of them told me that they would buy me ANY car I wanted, if I stop riding. I said: "Even a Porsche twin-turbo?". Dad said absolutely.

So, he's serious as a heart attack. What would you do?

I've started a poll for those people who don't want to write a comment.

I would take the money agree to it, and then spend it on a dream collection of motorcycles.

no, i would go crazy after the money runs out (which would be in about 5-6 weeks).

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Love and passion cannot be bought for any price !!!

if would be like asking you to deny the love of your life for a monetary amount. Some things in this world are PRICELESS

100k would be nice, but riding is too much fun. It's my only outlet from all the B.S.
I have an compromise take 50k and only ride half time time.

100K would buy you a lot of things. But that's all it is-things. Don't sell your soul. Sell it now and what next? How much to stop dating a girl? 50K? How much to get married to one he approves of? 250K?

Some days will stay a thousand years, some pass like the flash of a spark.

Well that is alot of money but it all depends how important riding is to you.....Riding is too much apart of me to just give up at the idea of money. Money can't buy happiness, unless of course you aren't that happy about riding. If you did take the money, sold your bike(s), and down the road got a bad craving adn bought another would that not cause bad blood between you and your father. So that would bring unwanted problems to your life when you could just axe the offer keep riding and be happy. It's your life anyway don't be a sell out.
