Hey yall, I'm thinking I want to come back to the 10s so I stopped by the local stealership and they offered me about 500 more for my zx6r than I paid for it 2yrs ago with 15k miles less.
I was hoping to see what others paid for theirs and what I could expect to pay especially since the 2019s are coming out. I did find a nice 2016 with 0 miles for 9995 that caught my eye. What are the differences between the 2016s and the 2018s?
Thanks in advance!
To the OP, was the price you mentioned was for a 10-R without ABS? ABS was a $1000 option. My new '16 ABS was $1000 more (OTD) than the price you state. Be careful with extra fees. A dealer near me had the same price listed but added a BS $1500 for dealer prep.
12,800 OTD 18' model non abs. Good deal, eh it is what it is but peace of mind with a warranty (which I probably voided by now) was worth it at the time. Under 10K seems like a great deal.
the 18abs krt was just under 16k out the door until I added the extended warranty and preferred service etc. now I just have to hang onto my stock can and cat deal when it's time for service.
Time to start shopping around for me. So around 13k seems like the price these are selling OTD. I'll wait around for special financing and discounts are available from Kawi as well.
current pricing in thailand at todays exchange rates... there are no negotiations or haggling, the price is the price... the only discounts are occasional kawa sponsored incentives which you can get from any dealer... theyre having a hard time moving H2's of course (the price is insane) so right now i believe there is about a $6k usd discount in place... they run some specials like that when sales are slow, but thats the largest ive seen.. on a ZX10R might only be like a $1k discount
my 2016 zx10r is just about to clock 40k km on it... would probably sell for around $13k usd due to the high km
also, interesting difference i learned about when i moved to thailand.... as part of their incentive to buy a new bike, they include the tag, registration, and first year of insurance (its a flat rate based upon bike, not the rider) in the sale price which is pretty cool... but still coming out 50% higher than US prices... horrendous import taxes
21k OTD for the 2018 SE, including road Hazzard(marchesini wheels are expensive and road Hazzard will replace them if I hit something) 4 year extended warranty, Preferred service(includes 8 free services, valve jobs etc, my choice), tax, license etc 21k flat. still 1k under sticker with 3800 in extras and tax and dealer fees included, I'm ok with that.
Wow. That's more than I'm willing to pay. I'm still looking for a better deal right now. Aiming for 13k OTD max.. but willing to be flexible depending on model.
You didn't over pay with $14,800. I just got mine for around 14k with taxes, etc. But mine is 3 states away though, so add in a pick up wheel chock, 2000 miles of gas, and a couple hotel rooms, $14,800 is what value I put on a 2019 KRT ABS in January 2020. Breath easy, buddy. You did fine : ) Best deal I could get on a 2020 kit abs is $16,421.00. For me finding a 2019 krt abs was worth while. Its a good bike, the liter bikes will hold their value better than any other sports bike. More money to spend on gear! These are midwest prices. NYC charges $9 for a beer so there you go!
YES! Finally found a new 18 ABS left over for 13,700 OTD. Hopefully I can get it this weekend.
