Weird engine braking

Have a 15' ZX10R with about 13,800 miles on the bike. With an archer flash, motion pro quick throttle, -1 +2 gearing. Up until around 13k miles. When I downshift to engine brake into the corner or even to a stop. I get a sputter for a second or two and feel like I lose a little bit of engine brake, then it goes back to normal. Is this an issue? If so, any idea what it could be?

You're not Rev matching properly. It's the slipper clutch kicking in.

I may not be perfect, but at least I don't ride a Suzuki.

Ridding the Internet of bad grammar, 1 post at a time.

If only it could be that simple; I remember feeling the slipper clutch kick in a few times when I first got my 30th Anniversary. It never kicked in once on my GSX-R 750, but the Gen 4 is a little more sensitive. The lever bounces, you can feel it very distinctly as a quick pulsation in the clutch lever. I have never noticed any anomaly with the engine. OP didn't mention a pulsation at the lever.

Once I got used to the clutch feel and adjusted it to my short little fingers it rarely recurred.

Seems that after 13,000 miles OP would have gotten the clutch thing figured out but who knows?
