Newbie question!

Im some what semi new & uneducated when it comes to technicalities and down to specifcs & such in the whole bike world. I recently just got my first bike the ZX10R or. Widow Maker & I see a lot of talk about the TRE mod. After reading a lot of people's back and forth comments I was starting to wonder what is the difference between the TRE mod & something like the Power commander mod or do they serve the same purpose? Thanks

Not the same thing, you can run both, you can also jump a wire on your ecu to advance timing also.

TRE changes timing where as the power commander changes fuel.

Yes, although the Gen1's are quite linear and powerful out of the box... getting a slip on, PC and dyno tune will make it run that much better. You will gain maybe 10hp, but rideability will be drastically changed for the better.

Because wheelie!!!

linear power? Dude mine was never a dog except below 2200 rpm after that i guess linear till 5 or 6k and at 7 to 8k it felt like a fucking 2 stroke with how crazy the power came on. My gen 1 was the most crazy raw and kick in the ass feeling bike i ever owned till my final ecu flash on my second gen5. Still its hard to find anything with that type of wild ride anymore

Agree. The Gen 1 had a massive hit around 7500

Tre is waste of money and will make it your ride run super lean. Just remove the sec flies which is easy free mod to do, slipon or full exhaust and install pc with good tune is all you need.
