GenV Marchesini wheel weights

All,

I finally had the chance to weigh the OEM ZX10RR Marchesini wheels.

The rear, with rotor, but w/o cush drive weighed 16.2 lbs
The front, also with rotors weighed 16.2 lbs

In contrast, the OEM BMW HP forged rear wheel weighed only 11.6

Wheel weight is why the BMW feels so much more flickable and faster. 5 lbs just on the rear wheel.
I was not able to weigh the BMW front at the time.

The forged Marchesinis are nice, but not even in the OEM BMW class. And now, the BMW will go even lighter with carbon fiber. Its time for Marchesini to up their game.

Id like to see what the Magnesium marchesinis weigh.

It's not time for Marchesini to step up their game, it's time for Kawasaki to up the requirements of the wheel manufacturer. Brembo, for example, makes rotors for a multitude of cars and trucks from the factory. But the specs asked of them are below what Brembo usually produces with their name on it, so you're not going to see a Dodge mini van being advertised as having Brembo rotors from the factory.

Most any company will be happy to make a product for a customer, but if the customer wants a cheaper product because they require each unit to be no more expensive than X price...

Can anyone confirm the stock Gen5 wheel weights without the rotors etc? I'd like to see what the actual numbers are via apples to apples comparison to some of the advertised weights.

I know Gen 4 rear wheel is 11.7 no rotor and front is 8.8 no rotors. Weight includes bearings. Gen 5, is a little heavier oem

Anyone run those Core Moto wheels? I pulled this from their website for the new apex 6 wheel. Bare Apex-6 Wheel weights.
FW35LM1 Front: 5.79 Lbs
RW6LM1 Rear: 7.96 Lbs
