Gen 4 : changing the rear spring

allo
I did do somes reserch but did not find what I am looking for.

I am looking for a ste by step "Do it yopurself" channging the rear spring from the shock.

I order a new spring from race teck now I need to find a way to remove the spring & put the new back in.

A video would be perfecrt
& if possible to show me the tool I will need would be better.

Of course the worst case would be to go to the garage...

thanks for your time
Ray

Great! I'm interested in this topic as well. The stock spring on the GEN 4 just doesn't support a 200 lb + rider

unless u have the tools specifically for motorcycle rear springs, I would just bring the shock and spring to a dealer or suspension shop.

2011 ZX10R Graves Full, BMC, block-off plates, MotionPro Rev2, 41t rear, Ohlins TTX, rear link, Pazzo shorties, Woolich tuned.

All you need is stable way to control the spring tension. Once the spring is compressed simply loosen the preload rings and then remove/replace the spring.

I have no experience with the tool in the link, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work. It would not take much to fab a homemade tool
