Fork length

Hi guys, new here. Looking to swap a set of 10 forks onto my ZRX but am having trouble finding the actual length of the forks. Looking for axle c/l to fork cap ( of course ) for gen 3 and gen 4. Tried to search and did not find actual measurements, just that 2 is longer than 1, and 3 is longer than 2. Can someone help me out here?

Have heard some reports that the new BPF is not very good, track wise. It is a little harsh on top and hard to tune out. Any opinions on this? Is the gen 3 forks easier to fine tune? How about with cartridge kits installed? Which would be your choice?

Thanks for any info you can provide.

The big piston forks are very stiff. I raised the rear with 8mm of shim to get more weight on the forks. They work much better. Not sure why you want to put 10R forks on your ZRX I'm thinking you would be better off putting better components in your ZRX forks if you want them to work better. Race Tech or GP Tech or Ohlins should have a lot of parts and pieces for your ZRX forks. Perhaps you have already try them and are not happy. I don't know.

Already have racetech in the street bike and don't think they will suffice for the track bike. Have decided to go with 3rd gen forks so am looking for the length, unloaded, for them. Will be getting custom gullwing triples made to make up the difference in length. If they are 15mm shorter then that will be the drop of the upper triple.

Anybody willing to measure their forks for me?

Everything you need to know about putting gen3 forks on a zrx is here on the ZRX site:

May want to pm Joe as he has gone to 1/2" shorter gen 2 forks now.

If anything the stock forks are set too long for stability but that and the stiffness of the fork springs makes it ride too tall especially when the stock shock is too soft and has poor rebound valving. Try dropping the front by 5mm. (~7mm from triple tree to the cap). It will actually turn.
