08 zx10 susp setup?

How u all going? I am just about to get my elka rear shock and my ktech ssk forks back in a few days and was just wondering should i lower the front and raise the rear or do one or the other for faster tip in? Don't tell me to ask my suspension specialist because i will .I would just like to now what all u gen 3 owners are doing with your susp setup and what results u are getting? The bike is mainly used for spirited road riding . Cheers shakey

Just send the Elka & K Techs over to me.

Start with the basics.Set your sags etc.
Put a cable tie on your front forks, see how much travel your using or not using.
This will help tell if you've got the right spring rate, and might help you decide which way to go with lowering front/raising rear or both.
Obviously a Track Day and guidance of a Suspension Guru would be the best thing.
The guy's that do this at Phillip Island are experts and set you up quickly and cheaply for a modest fee.
Make sure your Damper has had the once over as well or Shakey will be shakin it.

Area P slip-on & link pipe,De-catted Headers,PCV & Autotune,Ivans block off plates,K & N filter,X-Tre,Driven Superlite sprockets,+2 rear,stock front,520 conversion,V4 Speedohealer,Servo motor eliminator,Re-valved Ohlins damper,Spiegler front brake lines,Zero Gravity SR dark smoke screen,Stompgrip tank pads,ZX-6 rear cowl,and more to come.

Speed dosen't kill,it's the sudden stop!!!

We have a Gen 3 that we track day. Just did the front forks still using the rear oem shock. Haven't had to change the geometry the bike seems to turn in with little effort and picks up well out of the corners. Perhaps the only complaint I have is the bike is maybe a bit top heavy and likes to fall into the turns especially off camber turns. That though could be tire choice. Using Q2s right now.

30mm for track use should work ok for the street use.

I dropped my forks 5mm and have increased ride height with a G3S rear shock not sure how much over stock. Running Dunlop's or a similar hard carcass tire with a 55 or 60 aspect ratio should feel like a new bike. If not take all the preload out of the forks and jack up the rear.

I've tried the elka rear and Ktech piston kit and one word awsome the shock and the forks really work well on bumpy roads just what I was looking for the only drama I have is on the rear edge of my q3 tread it looks like it is cupped or scolloped out I think my rebound needs slight adjustment other than that the tyre wear is perfect I would highly recommend a elka shock and ketch ssk piston kit to anyone it has made my gen 3 awsome
