Alpinestars GP Pro R2 Gloves

The GP Pro gloves continue to evolve under the auspices of the most knowledgeable and experienced motorcycle glove engineers in the world at Alpinestars. GP Pro gloves have been a staple in the catalog for more than a decade, and they’ve continuously evolved to improve protection through experience on the race track while integrating new materials and construction techniques for the ultimate in comfort and protection.

The entire glove is carefully assembled by a skilled seamstress using premium cowhide, goat skin, and kangaroo leather that’s positioned to afford the rider maximum protection without compromising on comfort or flexibility. The goat skin is used on the palms so as not to interrupt front end feel, and there are additional swatches of leather in high-contact areas to promote longevity. For resiliency, extra patches are sewn in areas that most often contact the ground in the event of a fall.

On the knuckles, you’ll find a large thermoplastic polyurethane shields that impart not only extra abrasion resistance, but serve an HVAC duty as well. They’re perfectly positioned to move cooler atmospheric air onto the top of the hands via the large intakes at the front. On the aft side of these inserts, exhaust vents are positioned to draw moisture out. As you move closer to the wrists, you’ll see another exhaust, and perforated leather gussets, to move air that would otherwise be trapped, off your hands along with moisture. A similar architecture can be found on the wrap-around gauntlet enclosure. Intake and exhaust ports are positioned to help maximize cooling efficiency while you’re out on the bike.

On the fingers themselves, extra patches of leather are affixed in critical areas, giving you two layers of skin to help fend off injury in the event of a fall. And, as with all of Alpinestars’ advanced gloves, the ring and pinkie fingers use that extra piece of leather to latch those digits together. In this way, the patented design helps to prevent finger roll injury.

MSRP $279.95

Some of you may ask, what has changed with the GP Pro R2 over the previous generation? On the back of the new glove (left) you will see new exhaust vents and perforation. The R2 also has a slimmer design with less bulkiness at the top of the wrist. On the palm of the glove, you will see a new DFS (Dynamic Friction Shield) palm slider and ventilation in the fingers.

These gloves are available in several colors, you can order these gloves and take advantage of expert sizing advice by sending us a PM or a note to [email protected] with ALPINESTARS GP PRO GLOVES in the subject line and we’ll get back to you right away.
