HELP!!!!...Howl/Turbo noise...??

There's a similar thread but I didn't wana jack his....

07 10R......11.5K miles....just the other day I noticed that when I started the bike in "N"...I let it sit in the drive way until it idled down..but I could hear a weird, faint, howling/whistle type noise.....then if I revved it to about 2k it would howl pretty good...this in sitting still in Neutral. I just pulled all the panels off. If I listed to the stator cover I don't hear anything from there...but if I put my head by the rear shock I can hear it best from there...and coming from under the tank....I HATE HARMONICS!!!....Any way, some one please chime in and tell me it's not my stator....Even when they go out I didn't think they Howled?

Is there any way to open the cover to see if there is a problem?
