rear brake help
I was driving my 10r yesterday, and my rear brake lever stopped working, and my bike was accelerating oddly, and i started to smell something burning. So i pulled over and the rear caliper vent, where you bleed the brakes, was smoking, and some fluid escaped from it. I found out that a pebble had gotten wedged in my rear brake lever somewhere and kept it applied. i only drove like that for abour 3/4 mile. Did i do any damage to my rotor, or brake pads, and do i have to change the brake fluid because it was boiled, or will it return to its viscosity?? Thanks

You definitely might want to replace the brake fluid, as for the rotor, check it for heat cracks and warping. Also inspect the pads closely. If you're in doubt replace the pads.

I dunno exactly what type of pads are stock on the 10, but you may have glazed the rotor pretty bad if nothing else, so you may want to sand it down some.
For me though, I wouldn't worry about it too much, unless youre a stickler for things like that, because I never really use the rear unless Im goofin around...

Yeah its very odd, i was only driving like that for about 1/2 - 3/4 miles, so i doubt i did any real damage, hopefully. What are the chances that a pebble bounces from the ground, as im releasing the rear brake lever, and get caught in the lever as its closing?? unreal!

You deffinately want to bleed the system but beyond that just inspect the rotor/pads.

Change The Fluid...put Some Good Stuff In. I Would Inspect The Pads And Rotor And Then Take Some Light Sandpaper An Scuff Up The Rotor And The Pads
