Isn't 125kph in 3rd IN the mid-range, not to mention that morefire said kph not mph, so I'm guessing this isn't the US model... The only nod I'd give the CBR over the 10R this year is the feel/confidence in the bike - but performance numbers, street or track, US or EMEA, go to the 10.
Didn't anyone read July's Cycle World? They did a great 0-180mph shootout, which included all the '08 liters, the Duc 1098 and 1098R, the ZX14 and Busa, even a turbo Busa and a Hennessey TT GT500. They tested street, track, and on a runway for straight-line times.
Despite the RIDICULOUS numbers the 10R posted, including some of the best times, it got dinged for not feeling solid enough in the turns. The Duc and GSXR got the nods (which is total f-ing bullshit - even though I'm a 10R fan, anyone can objectively see that those 2 perennial favorites are no where NEAR the top this year - the goddam twin Duc was slooooowwww in all counts and peaked at 163mph - only thing worse was the poor aged R1) The CBR is night and day from previous generations, but still not ready - gearing and power curves are not dialed in where they should be, which you proved in your roll-on test. The 10R doesn't just catch the CBR in the race to the top of the dial, it flat-out pounces on it...
I'm not shocked you ran down the CBR, but am shocked to not see more fast posts to say that we're not surprised - even in 08
