Carbon Fiber

What do you guys think? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Kawas...em110226852144 Anybody ever heard of the process they use? Ive heard some excellent stories of OPP and also heard horrific stories about them. This bodywork looks hot and is priced pretty resonable i think

looks ok the weave looks tight and no doubt they use an auto-clave to get the finish and quality , not a bad price too

definitely NOT made with an autoclave...you can see tiny air bubbles all through the finish. the only reason they are so shiny is because they are clearcoated. most carbon you see for sale just comes with a UV gelcoat (similar to that on boats), that can't shine like a urethane clearcoat will. the quality looks ok, but there's some weird stuff going on on the upper where it thins out next to the windscreen. looks unfinished there. also they don't show any shots of the backside, but from what i can see, it doesn't look like very good quality. it looks like theres a lot of fiberglass backing, which will negate any weight savings you'd get from the carbon, and probably weigh more than the stock fairings.

the price really isn't that much better than OPP, but at least you know these are in stock and ready to ship, with OPP, you never know...I've heard of people waiting 6 months or more for parts they ordered to come in.

Unfortunatley for me I have learned the hard way that you get what you pay for, but those look cool if your going to do a paint combo with the carbon fiber and a different color.
